A huge ice sculpture of a Canadian seal hunter and seal has been unveiled in London’s Trafalgar Square in protest at the hunting season in Canada. Every year thousands of seals are killed during the two-month hunt on ice floes off the Atlantic coast.
The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) commissioned the 10ft sculpture to raise awareness about the seal hunt.
The Canadian government says the cull is necessary to control seal numbers.
